About Long Tail
Here at Long Tail, our goal is to help alleviate the burden associated with appealing denials from payers. We have tools that specialize in Outpatient Medical Necessity Appeals, Inpatient Level of Care appeals, and Medical Necessity Assessment justifications. Our Generative AI engine combines clinical care guidelines, patient records, and other relevant sources to define the clinical justification that is required for each treatment and service.
About the Products:
AppealAssist
Non-Integrated: The non-integrated version of AppealAssist allows you to securely upload a patient record, select the payer & what service they denied payment for. From there, the Long Tail app will run an audit to identify what criteria was found in the patient document, and write your appeal. You can then edit your appeal if needed, and copy it out to send back to the payer in whatever medium you typically use. Each appeal written by the system from scratch, with no historical data saved, keeping patient data safe & secure.
Integrated: The integrated version of AppealAssist pulls patient, payer & services straight from your EMR’s 835 files. This allows you to log into the Long Tail app, simply search for the Account ID you’re looking for, and find an already written appeal for you to edit if needed, copy, and send back to the payer. This version allows users to work most efficiently, showing you what documents we recommended including, and may have already pulled in for you, displaying the highlights (and details if you want them) of your audit results, an analysis on how likely you are to receive an overturned payment, and a ready to send appeal. Integrated AppealAssist does capture and store historical data, so you can go back and find any account ID in your system, anytime (and if an Account ID seems to be missing, you can add your very own).
CareAssist
Non-Integrated: This version of CareAssist is very similar to the non-integrated version of AppealAssist. It is designed for single-use sessions and because it is not integrated with your EMR, does not store any historical patient data. This means that any patient records must be uploaded by hand. Once the evaluation and justification is run, you are free to make any necessary edits and send the justification letter on its way.
Integrated: Just like the integrated AppealAssist, CareAssist aims to be the ultimate job aid, providing you with automatically completed inpatient status justification letters. The system pulls information from real time HL7/ADT feeds to display patient admission data backed justifications. The system evaluates 13 clinical indicators and assigns acuity scores of High, Medium, or Low, to score intensity, overall patient acuity, severity, and determine a recommended patient status.
